WordPress Widgets (WPW) is designed to provide a simple way to arrange the various elements of your sidebar content (known as “widgets”) without having to change any code. It requires widget-ready templates. If you don’t want to change your current theme, there is an easy guide to widgetize you template.
King Text Widget Plugin (v.0.69) allows you to put html or php code using the text widget. It is really helpful when you want to add some custom features or scripts to your sidebar without changing any source code. Before you install, please make sure you have downloaded and activated the King Text Framework (v.0.70). The King Widget Framework contains a bunch of files and libraries on which all of the King Widgets depend. Without those files none of the King Widgets will work! The Framework resides in the /plugins/king-includes/ - Folder.
Fix for Wordpress v2.2 and above.
If you are using newer version of Wordpress, you may need to make these changes in order the plugin to work.
Open up the king text.php file and look for this line of code near the top:
include_once('widgets.php');
If you comment it out so it looks like this
/*include_once('widgets.php'); */
The plugin will now activate and it works like it used to! The plugin was looking for that old widgets.php plugin that is now a part of WP 2.2+ automatically.
